The creator and screenwriter

Emily in Paris comes to us from the man who brought to the small screen "Sex and the City" and "Beverly Hills 90210" and "Melrose Place". He has been touring Hollywood for years with the name Darren Bennett Star and produces crates of cult sentences that he knows how to integrate perfectly into the American fantasy, and to the best of the Jewish minds, Starr certainly knows how to deliver the goods. At 59, he manages to write the next hit of the current generation.

Between Paris and New York

So while the new series is guilty of some of the sins and clichés familiar to us long ago from the new and tiring American series on Netflix, something here works differently. In Emily in Paris the main character played by Lily Collins ("In Love, Rosie", "Okja") Is a combination of Emily from the famous cult film and the timeless Carrie Bradshaw, Slightly awkward, the utterly hallucinatory style that by no means becomes terra-chic, and the sweetness of Audrey Hepburn: Lily Collins is the perfect American fantasy about Paris.

So true, we have exhausted the foreign characters who are supposed to speak French but for some reason all they come out of is English with a rather bleak French accent. We have completely exhausted the romantic trio like the one with Lucas Barbo and Camille Razat, the two actors who in combination with Collins produce an amount of beauty that is hard to deal with when you are on the couch in your pajamas. And oh, rebellion, how come all these bad things just happen to her? But of course Emily will overcome all the obstacles, get exactly what she wants and all the most equal men with an ease equal to the ease with which we are put in a closing every second or a random apache. Things work out cosmically in Emily's Paris, even when it makes no sense, and even the shit she accidentally steps on can not make up for all this kitsch.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION

What does manage to compensate for the sadness of the soul, is of course the beautiful Paris. All the most enviable and lustful locations, the ones we would most like to walk in now, eat wonderful doughs and breathe full of lungs in the signature scent of the Coco Chanel perfume combined with the urine in the city metro. Emily in Paris is a sugar-coated Instagram page, according to the millennial generation that watches it: Clearly unrealistic and reflects an image we can only dream of in the meantime, full of glitter and an extra thick filter. And of course it is impossible without mentioning that Emily does not wear a mask and therefore this provides a particularly pleasant escapism in such a period, together with the exaggerated costumes, the charming lovers and the intimate cafes – a particularly delicious and American candy is created.

Another thing that manages to balance all this sweetness, is the obvious antagonist in the form of Sybil – the evil and sexy boss, who takes care to remind Emily and the viewers at every possible opportunity, that all this sweetness on our screens exists only in fairy tales and Disneyland Paris.

Orvar, Paris

In conclusion, since by the time we can visit the Eiffel in reality there will probably be a lot more water in the Seine, it is strongly recommended to spend a day on this story, and if you are good at holding back, a few days . It is recommended to combine with the new Netflix ice cream of the beloved brothers Ben and Jerry as the best American cliché. Bon apetite.
