אתמול נבחרו הנציג והשיר המנצח שייצגו את ישראל באירוויזיון 2022 בטורינו שבאיטליה, במסגרת המשדר החגיגי "האקס פקטור לאירוויזיון" עונה 4 ששודר ב-רשת.בתום משדר ארוך ומותח ביצע בן דוד מהפך לאחר שבתום ניקוד השופטים וועדת השיפוט הוביל אלי חולי בפער גדול אך הצופים הפכו את הניקוד ובן דוד ניצח בנקודה בלבד. במקום השלישי זכתה ענבל ביבי וברביעי ספיר סבן.
האירוויזיון ישודר ב- כאן 11 במוצ"ש, ה- 14 במאי 2022 (חצי הגמר הראשון ישודר ב- 10 במאי, וחצי הגמר השני ב- 12 במאי, בו גם יופיע הנציג הישראלי שזכה מיכאל בן דוד).

מיכאל בן דוד בן ה 25 (יליד חודש יולי 1995) נולד באשקלון ויש לו ארבעה אחים. כנער ספג התעללות על רקע נטייתו המינית וקולו הגבוה עד שיצא מהארון בגיל 16. כיום הוא מתגורר עם בן זוגו ברמת גן. אמו חזרה בתשובה והוא למד משחק בבית צבי.בתץכנית אקס פקטור הוא היה חבר בנבחרת הבנים שהובילה נטע ברזילי.
